Budo Karate is actually just Karate. I think it is called Budo Karate to distinguish it from the modern ‘Sport’ Karate. Budo Karate focusses on Karate as self-defense. This has always been the focus in Karate. Karate was never meant to be used in a mutual consent fighting situation like in competition, a ring of a planned agreed upon street fight.
